All of the breeds in the breed selector to the right of this page are published on their own breed base. Direct comparison of bull PTAs of different breeds is therefore NOT possible.

For example; The British Friesian breed is no longer included in the Holstein breed base and now operates a separate base on all traits. Friesian bulls can therefore no longer be compared to Holstein evaluated bulls. Similarly, Ayrshire bulls are published on a different genetic base to Jersey bulls and can also not be compared directly. This is an important point for breeders to remember, especially for those who are considering using a variety of breeds in their herds
